in the basements in Kowloon are markets like this one. Here you can literally
buy anything. Unfortunately a photograph does not give the atmosphere
that you experience in a place like this, the noise, the cooking food
smells, the other smells, the hustle of shopkeepers bringing in goods,
the people clambering for bargains. My
serious lack of Chinese vocabulary meant I felt very vulnerable, so
did not manage to do any shopping bar a pack of cigarettes and then
I think I was ripped off.
